Seatter St. is in the lower third of the picture with
the Serbian section of the cemetery visible by the street.

Seatter Street is named for Englishman John S. Seatter, who staked a placer mining claim in that area in 1895. The claim, which included a part of the present cemetery, was found by the land office to be non-mineral in character and Seatter homesteaded and farmed a portion of his original claim. Seatter died at Juneau in 1913.

Mt. Maria is on the left and Gold Ridge of Mt. Roberts is the mostly level ridge at the skyline. The Cross is in the Catholic section of the cemetery with the top of Snowslide Gulch at the eastern end of Last Chance Basin visible above the top of it. The Mt. Roberts Tramway upper terminal platform is visible at the upper right. Evergreen Cemetery is located at the foot of Mt. Juneau and has close to 6,200 recorded burials.
