Mt. Juneau from Evergreen Cemetery

Mt. Juneau from Evergreen Cemetery.

Seatter St. is in the lower third of the picture with
the Serbian section of the cemetery visible by the street.

Seatter Street is named for Englishman John S. Seatter, who staked a placer mining claim in that area in 1895. The claim, which included a part of the present cemetery, was found by the land office to be non-mineral in character and Seatter homesteaded and farmed a portion of his original claim. Seatter died at Juneau in 1913.
