The Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center in 1964.

The Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center opened May 13, 1962 as the first U.S. Forest
Service visitor center in the nation. The architect was Linn Forrest and
the contractor was Triplette Construction, both of Juneau.
