On June 20, 2006: Civil Twilight was at 2:33 a.m.; Sunrise was at 3:51 a.m; Sunset was at 10:08 p.m., for 18 hours 17 minutes of daylight. Civil Twilight was at 11:26 p.m. There is no Astronomical and Nautical Twilight between May 18 and July 24. The Summer Solstice was on June 21st at 4:26 a.m.; the 21st being the longest day of the year which was only 1 second longer than the 20th. All times shown are Alaska Daylight Savings Time.

Juneau from the Mt. Juneau Trail at the 1500 foot elevation of Mt. Juneau.

The steep and rugged Mt. Juneau Trail begins a little more than a half mile up the Perseverance Trail on the eastern (inland) side of the Cape Horn ridge. From the trailhead which is at the 760 foot elevation of Mt. Juneau, the trail climbs the roughly 2800 additional feet to the peak in 2 miles. The writer has climbed the mountain twice and the photographer three times.

In the middle foreground the Last Chance Basin side of Mt. Maria is visible on the right with the ridge of Mt. Roberts rising on the left side. On the far side of Gastineau Channel is West Juneau on Douglas Island.

At the time the Temperature was 50 degrees F, 93% Relative Humidity, Dewpoint 48 degrees, the wind was calm. Barometric pressure 1012.9 mb (29.91 in. Hg.) and steady, precipitation so far that day .56 inches with 1.26 inches for the month. The high for the day was 51.3 degrees at 1:07 p.m. and the low for the day was 45.2 degrees at 4:22 a.m.
