WEST JUNEAU WEEKLY PICTURE
The Governor’s Mansion – Juneau, Alaska
In 1912 work was started on the three floor (plus basement), 12,900 square foot residence on Calhoun Avenue. $40,000 was appropriated for its construction at the former site of a dairy farm established by the Calhoun family. Mt. Juneau is in the background and the photo was taken from the outside deck on the 8th level of the State Office Building.
