WEST JUNEAU WEEKLY PICTURE
The Juneau Federal Building with Mt. Juneau Behind
The sun came out in the late evening and bathed downtown Juneau and the clouds with an orange glow after a day in which the highest rain rate (of 6.40″ per hour) was recorded at the West Juneau Weather Station since the Davis Vantage Pro weather instruments were installed in November 2002. The Juneau Airport set a new record of .99″ for rainfall for August 9th, breaking the previous record of .80″ set in 1990. Sunset was at 8:57 p.m.
