WEST JUNEAU WEEKLY PICTURE
A Great Blue Heron on a Sunny Afternoon
This guy or gal was roosting in a row of sitka spruce and western hemlock trees some 100 feet to the north of the house from 10:14 in the morning until at least 2 p.m. There was another heron in those same trees which stayed until at least 4 p.m., but it was tucked among the branches of the trees and was much less visible.
