NWS Special Weather Statement
1150 am AST Tue Jan 15 2008
...Potential for local flooding Tuesday night through Friday...
Significant moisture continues to move over the area from the
southwest. Snow will change to rain for most of Southeast Alaska
on Tuesday. Moderate rain on the snowpack will cause a rise in
streams and will collect water in low lying areas over frozen
ground. These combined effects will make stream and urban
flooding possible over the next few days.

law enforcement office or the National Weather Service.

NWS Special Weather Statement
800 am AST Tue Jan 15 2008
...Snow and heavy rains may make present a local flooding
hazard...
A large amount of moisture has moved into the area from the
tropics. Snow will continue to fall. Accumulations of 4 to 6
inches are expected in most Southeast Alaska locations before
changing to rain Tuesday afternoon. Rain will be heavy at times
over portions of the Panhandle and...when combined with the
resulting snow melt on top of frozen ground...will make small
stream and urban flooding possible.

law enforcement office or the National Weather Service.
