Centre, Sidney, British Columbia, Canada;
USGS on 1/09 for 5.6); 119 miles - 120 miles
NNW of Juneau. Thought it was a strong gust
of wind at first, but then felt a slight
shaking for 2 or 3 seconds and a bit of noise
from the roof; other places such as in the
Mendenhall Valley, Lemon Creek, and on the
flats downtown felt it more strongly. The

Watch...which is in effect from Thursday evening through Friday
morning.
Moderate snowfall is expected to develop Thursday evening and
continue through Friday morning. Snow will briefly mix with rain
before ending on Friday. This snowfall will combine with gusty
winds which could potentially reduce visibilities to less than a
mile at times. Storm total snowfall of 6 to 10 inches is
expected.
A watch means conditions are favorable for the development of
winter storm conditions in and close to the watch area.
Preparation for this potentially dangerous weather event should
begin now.
