...Potentially dangerous storm system to move into the eastern
Gulf of Alaska Sunday and Monday...
Another fierce storm system will move into the Gulf of Alaska on
Sunday on the heels of the present storm. Forecasters are
confident that this low pressure system will begin to affect the
Southeast Alaska coast Sunday with storm force winds and
hurricane force wind gusts. The first front associated with this
storm will move inland Sunday afternoon bringing very strong
winds plus heavy rain and snow. The second front will move onto
the coast early Monday morning with more rain than snow but with
continued very strong winds.
Southeast Alaska residents should expect periods of hazardous
weather through the Holiday weekend into next week. There may be
small breaks in the wind and precipitation during this time but
weather conditions will again deteriorate rapidly until the
entire weather system moves inland on Tuesday.
