Winter Storm Warning midnight tonight to
9 PM AST Sunday
evening for Juneau Borough and northern Admiralty
Island.
Snowfall amounts from this storm are expected
to range between
1 and 2 feet. In addition the east winds
can gust to 40 mph in
exposed locations tonight and Sunday.
A warning means that heavy snow is imminent.
Heavy snow could
pose a threat to life and property. Heavy
snow will cause very low
visibilities. Travel is discouraged unless
it is an absolute
emergency.

Douglas areas. Winds as high as 60 mph have
occurred at Eldred
Rock during the mid afternoon hours. These
gusty winds are
expected to continue through the night tonight
and into early
Wednesday morning.
A warning means that high winds are already
occurring. These
winds could pose a threat to life and property.
People are urged to secure loose objects
that could be blown
around or damaged by the wind. Take the time
to secure trash cans
and other loose outdoor objects. If you must
venture
outdoors... stay alert for flying debris
and doors slamming shut.

Inn - a "Bed and Breakfast" establishment
(formerly Cashen Quarters) also caught fire
and was destroyed.
