- “I think parents though, who have grown up with a
different view of the world, have a tougher
time wrapping their heads around it and understanding
it. And they have fears that, while they’re
fears, are not rooted in fact.” - Superintendent
Mark Miller. So Mr. Miller, the children
because of cultural influences that upend
the ideas of male and female and cause unwarranted
confusion for young children are the ones
in charge and the parents and adults who
don't believe in your viewpoint Mr. Miller
have no say in the matter in the upbringing
of children and are wrong? The Obama Administration
has redefined Title 9 at the stroke of a
pen to redefine what "sex" means
in the law; "sex" and "gender"
had until recently, had the same definition
and were two different words to differentiate
between male and female before being redefined
by people like yourself Mr. Miller. The writers
of the law did not envision a guy going into
the girls locker room just because he thinks
(or CLAIMS to think... THAT is really the
problem) that he is a she. What about the privacy
and dignity of everyone else Mr. Miller?
We need to stay with the status-quo that
existed before the activists (including Juneau
Public Libraries employees using our CBJ
tax dollars) started turning everything upside-down
in their zeal on behalf of a tiny, tiny,
tiny number of people.

NWS Special Statement
Statement as of 3:45 PM AKDT on May 05, 2016
...Heavy rains expected through Friday night...
A strong weather front moving into the north Gulf Coast this
afternoon will spread rain into the north Gulf this evening and
across into the northern half of the Panhandle overnight through
Friday. Moderate to heavy rains of 1 to 3 tenths of an inch an
hour near Yakutat will continue into the late overnight hours.
The heavy rain will then move southeast into the northern
Panhandle through Friday morning. Rain rates of 1 tenth to a
quarter inch an hour across the northern Panhandle are expected
from through Friday afternoon before they start diminishing.
Northern Panhandle rainfall totals for Thursday evening to Friday
afternoon range between 2 to 4 inches with a few areas locally
receiving more. The front will begin to dissipate Friday
afternoon as rains spread into the southern Panhandle with totals
of 1 to 2 inches expected through early Saturday morning over the
area.
River and stream levels will see rapid rises into Friday across
the northern Panhandle potentially reaching bankfull...but no
flooding is expected. The situation will continue to be monitored

The riders pay for it when they use the bus

the bus station to the foot of Main Street

- NWS Summary of April 2016 Weather at the Juneau International Airport:
...WARMEST APRIL ON RECORD PLUS THE 5TH WETTEST...
The month of April was another warm one at the Juneau International
Airport. The average temperature for the month was 44.9 degrees beating
the previous record of 44.4 set in 1993. The airport also broke the
record for warmest minimum temperature with 38.6 degrees averaged. This
breaks the previous record of 36.9 set in 1941. The fact that we had 8
days with record high minimum temperatures helped with these two warm
records.
The warmest day in April was the 22nd with 61 degrees and the coldest
temperature occurred on the 20th with a cool 30 degrees.
This was the 5th wettest April on record with a total rainfall of 5.16
inches. That is 2.22 inches above normal. The most rain fell on the
17th with 0.89 inches. There was no snow in April but Juneau did have ice
pellets on the 30th.
Winds for the month were primarily from the southeast with an average
speed of 8 mph. The highest wind speed occurred on the 30th with a peak
wind of 40 mph from the southeast.
