FEBRUARY WAS COLDER AND DRIER THAN NORMAL THOUGH NOT AT ANY RECORD BREAKING LEVELS. PRECIPITATION FOR THE MONTH WAS 1.98 INCHES WHICH IS 2.15 INCHES BELOW NORMAL. IN CONTRAST...THE SNOWFALL WAS 10 INCHES ABOVE NORMAL FOR FEBRUARY WITH A MONTHLY TOTAL OF 26.8 INCHES RECORDED AT THE AIRPORT. THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH WAS 23.9 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT WHICH IS 6.2 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. WE CAN BLAME THE LOW TEMPERATURES FOR THE LARGE DIFFERENCE. LOWS WERE ON THE COLDER SIDE IN FEBRUARY AT AN AVERAGE OF ONLY 15.7 DEGREES. THIS IS 9.2 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. THE MINIMUM DAILY TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH WAS RECORDED AT ZERO DEGREES ON FEBRUARY 12TH. THE MAXIMUM DAILY TEMPERATURE WAS 41 F ON THE 26TH WITH MONTHLY AVERAGE HIGHS OF 32.1 DEGREES. WINDS THROUGHOUT THE MONTH WERE PRIMARILY FROM THE SOUTHEAST WITH AN AVERAGE SPEED OF 5.3 MPH. THE HIGHEST WIND RECORDED AT THE AIRPORT WAS 42 MPH ON FEBRUARY 15TH. THE AVERAGE WIND SPEED ON THAT PARTICULAR DAY WAS 20 MPH.
