A brief period of freezing rain in the Mendenhall Valley has
ended. A thin glaze was observed on horizontal surfaces but has
since melted. With temperatures in the back of the Mendenhall
Valley now above freezing and expected to remain so...additional
freezing rain is not anticipated.

The National Weather Service in Juneau has issued a Freezing Rain
Advisory...which is in effect until 5 am akst Monday.
* Timing...from now until early Monday morning.
* Ice accumulations...less than one quarter of an inch overnight
for locations in and around the Mendenhall Valley.
* Other impacts...driving will be extremely hazardous. Slow down
and keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you. Allow
yourself extra time before braking into and making turns.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Freezing Rain Advisory means that ice will accumulate up to
1/4 inch.
