...This is a tsunami communications test for the state of
Alaska...
This test is being conducted to determine the effectiveness and
extent of dissemination of Tsunami Warning messages using the
NOAA Weather Radio broadcast and the emergency alert system in
Alaska only. Instructions for public and agency response are
found on the web at ready.Alaska.Gov.

Statement as of 12:07 AM AKDT on March 27, 2013
Today at approximately 945 am the National Weather Service and
the Alaska division of Homeland security and emergency management
and the Alaska broadcasters association will conduct a test of the
Alaska Tsunami Warning System for coastal communities in southern
Alaska. The test area will include Southeast Alaska from the
British Columbia border to Cape Suckling. The test will be
broadcast over many radio and television stations and the
broadcast will state that this is only a test. Some communities
will activate their sirens. NOAA all hazards radio listeners will
hear a tone alert followed by a test message. After the test we
invite you to provide feedback online at ready dot Alaska dot g o
v slash survey. Once again a Tsunami Warning System test will be
conducted today at approximately 945 am akdt. The test will be
canceled in the event of any significant seismic activity.

On Wednesday March 27, at approximately 945 am, the National Weather
Service and the Alaska division of Homeland Security and Emergency
Management and the Alaska Broadcasters Association will conduct a
test of the Alaska Tsunami Warning System for coastal communities
in southern Alaska. The test area will include Southeast Alaska
from the British Columbia border to Cape Suckling. This test is
part of tsunami preparedness week in Alaska. The test will be
broadcast over many radio and television stations and the broadcast
will state that this is only a test. Some communities will activate
their sirens. NOAA all hazards radio listeners will hear a tone
alert followed by a test message. After the test we invite you to
provide feedback online at ready dot Alaska dot gov slash survey.
Once again a Tsunami Warning System test will be conducted on
Wednesday March 27 at approximately 945 am akdt. The test will be
canceled in the event of any significant seismic activity.
