A gale force low pressure system will develop and move into the
central Gulf late Thursday. A powerful front associated with the
low pressure system will move over the Panhandle through the day
Friday bringing with it gusty winds...high seas and rain.
The main frontal band is expected to move onshore Friday morning.
Strong winds and rain heavy at times should be expected across the
Panhandle Friday. The strongest winds are expected to occur along
the outer coast. In addition to strong winds and heavy rain...sea
states in the southeastern Gulf will build to 18 to 22 ft Friday
and 22 to 26 ft Saturday.
The recent tranquil weather conditions across Southeast Alaska
will deteriorate rapidly Friday. Residents of Southeast Alaska

An extended period of dry weather is expected across the Alaskan
Panhandle Sunday and continue through the working weekdays.
Daytime high temperatures will reach to the middle 60s under
mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. Large diurnal temperature
fluctuations are expected with nighttime lows in the middle 30s to
the lower 40s for the northern Panhandle and lower to middle
40s for the central and southern Panhandle. Isolated frost will be
possible in the coldest inland valleys by the middle of next
week. Mid September typically brings daytime highs in the middle
to upper 50s.

An extended period of dry weather is expected to move over the
northern Panhandle Sunday and continue through at least Thursday.
Daytime temperatures are forecast to reach the mid 60s under

INTERESTINGLY...HIGHER RIVER LEVELS ON THE 16TH WAS A RESULT OF
CONSECUTIVE WARM DAYS.
