The National Weather Service in Juneau has issued a Winter Storm
Watch...which is in effect from Thursday morning through late
Thursday night.
* Snow amount: 6 to 10 inches possible.
The watch in the Skagway area is for elevations above 1500 ft.
For the Juneau area highest snowfall accumulations are expected
north of Taku Inlet. The highest accumulations for the Haines areas
will be from Haines north predominately near the border...although
south of Haines may receive 6 to 8 inches of snow.
Expect the heaviest snow to occur from midday Thursday through
Thursday night.

The National Weather Service in Juneau has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow...which is in effect from 3 am to 9 PM
akst Saturday.
* Snow amount: 4 to 6 inches
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
An advisory means that a potentially hazardous event is already
occurring or imminent.
Heavy wet snow will be difficult to manage due to high water
content.
Driving will be hazardous.
This statement will be updated by 400 PM akst Friday or sooner if
conditions warrant.

Juneau International Airport:
...ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND PRECIPITATION FOR JUNEAU IN NOVEMBER
2010...
THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 34.7 FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER WAS 1.4
DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE WAS 52 DEGREES ON THE
3RD...AND THE LOWEST TEMPERATURE OF 15 OCCURRED ON THE 19TH DURING A DRY
AND COLD PERIOD THAT LASTED UNTIL THE 24TH.
OVERALL PRECIPITATION WAS 7.87 INCHES FOR THE MONTH...WHICH IS 2.44
INCHES ABOVE NORMAL. THE MOST PRECIPITATION OCCURRED ON THE 3RD AND 4TH
WITH 2.02 INCHES RECORDED. TOTAL SNOWFALL WAS 7.7 INCHES WITH THE
GREATEST AMOUNT ON THE 30TH WHEN 5.8 INCHES FELL.
THE PEAK WIND AT THE JUNEAU AIRPORT WAS 54 MPH FROM THE SOUTHEAST ON
NOVEMBER 1ST. THE PEAK WIND AT SOUTH DOUGLAS ISLAND WAS 72 MPH WHICH
OCCURRED AT MULTIPLE TIMES ON THE 17TH AND 18TH DURING STRONG TAKU
WINDS.
