MINOR FLOOD STAGE.

THE MONTH OF JULY 2010 WAS MARKED BY SLIGHTLY COOLER TEMPERATURES AND
NEAR NORMAL PRECIPITATION. THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH WAS
76 WHICH OCCURRED ON THE 8TH. THE LOWEST WAS 45 DEGREES ON BOTH THE
1ST AND THE 27TH. AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURES WERE ABOUT 2 DEGREES
COOLER THEN NORMAL WITH A VALUE OF 55.
TWENTY OUT OF JULY`S 31 DAYS SAW FOG WITH 19 OF THOSE DAYS HAVING A
TENTH OR GREATER RAIN ACCUMULATION. THE TOTAL PRECIPITATION FOR THE
MONTH WAS 3.86 INCHES...0.26 INCHES BELOW NORMAL. THERE WERE A FEW
MULTI-DAY DRY STRETCHES BUT THE LONGEST WAS A 5 DAY DRY PERIOD
BETWEEN THE 25TH AND THE 30TH.
THE HIGHEST WIND GUST FOR THE MONTH WAS 36 MPH ON THE AFTERNOON OF
THE 22ND OBSERVED AT THE JUNEAU AIRPORT. MAYFLOWER ISLAND HAD A PEAK

...Warm weather expected across Alaskan Panhandle Tuesday and
Wednesday...
Warm days are expected over most of Southeast Alaska on Tuesday
and Wednesday with daytime maximum temperatures reach the middle
to upper 70s across the northern and central Panhandle to around
80 degrees across the southern areas. Record readings are likely
to be set for many inland locations. Strong high pressure anchored
in the northeast Pacific will continue to intensify and allow very
warm air to settle over Southeast Alaska.
The weather pattern will shift on Thursday as a weather front
approaching the eastern Gulf with increasing cloudiness along the
Panhandle coastal areas. This will allow temperatures to cool and
back to seasonal high temperatures in the lower to middle 60s
through Friday.
Wear lightweight and light colored clothing and drink plenty of
water. Never leave children or pets unattended in vehicles during
hot weather.
