NWS Frost Advisory
Statement as of 4:47 AM GMT on May 19, 2008
...Frost advisory remains in effect until 7 am ADT this morning...
A frost advisory remains in effect until 7 am ADT this morning.
Clear skies and drying conditions are allowing temperatures to
fall close to or below freezing in some locations tonight. Areas
at greatest risk include inland valleys and wind sheltered
locations such as the Chilkat valley and Mendenhall Valley.
An advisory means that frost is already occurring or imminent.
Frost advisories are issued during the growing season so that
sensitive plants can be covered or brought inside before damage
occurs.
Plants subject to damage from frost should be given the
appropriate protection.
This statement will be updated by 700 am ADT this morning or
sooner if conditions warrant.

Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 10:23 PM AKDT on May 16, 2008
The National Weather Service in Juneau has issued an
* Urban and small stream flood advisory for...
Juneau Borough and northern Admiralty Island
* until 430 am ADT Saturday
* At 1023 PM ADT the public reported that Montana Creek has reached
bankfull. Steady moderate rainfall this afternoon and evening has
caused area creeks and rivers to rapidly rise. Rainfall rates have
begun to taper off...however...water levels will continue to rise
through the early morning hours before rapidly falling again towards
day break. Up to 6 inches of water is expected to cover Montana
Creek Road before cresting tonight.
Rain will cause considerable ponding of water in low lying areas,
near culverts, and along small creeks and drainages.
When the USGS river gauge on Montana Creek reads 15 ft water will
begin to flow over the Montana Creek Road just before the gun range
in the Juneau area.

NWS Special Weather Statement
Statement as of 4:00 PM GMT on May 13, 2008
...Heavy rain...high winds...and stormy seas forecast for the
Panhandle Wednesday and Wednesday night...
One to two inches of rain is expected Wednesday through Wednesday
night when an unusually wet Spring storm pushes across Southeast
Alaska. Stiff south winds will rise to 30 mph during the day

feet in the Inner Channels.
Freezing levels are forecast to climb to 5,000 feet across the

Alaska. The combination of high freezing levels and heavy
precipitation will result in Rising River flows. There will also
be an increased risk of avalanche and snow slide activity the
rest of this week.
Persons across Southeast Alaska...especially mariners and those
venturing into the back country or near rivers... should stay
tuned to the latest weather forecasts Wednesday and Wednesday

- 0445 ADT (Posted here at 0631): NWS: Heavy
rain likely for the Panhandle Wednesday.
NWS Special Weather Statement
Statement as of 4:45 AM GMT on May 13, 2008
...Heavy rain likely for the Panhandle Wednesday...
An unusually strong late Spring storm is expected to bring heavy
rain to the Panhandle Wednesday and Wednesday night. Most
locations should expect 1 to 2 inches of rain with as much as 4
inches of rain possible in the wetter and terrain favored
locations.
Freezing levels are forecast to climb to 5,000 feet across the
north to over 10,000 feet in the south. The high freezing levels...
combined with an unusually deep snow pack in the mountains and the
likelihood of heavy rain...could result in significant rises on
the regions rivers. Also there will be an increased risk of
avalanche and snow slide activity.
Person across Southeast Alaska...especially those venturing into
the back country or near a flood prone area...should monitor this
developing situation. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio or your
favorite local media for updates of this event.
This statement will be updated by 4 PM ADT Tuesday or sooner if
conditions warrant.

- From the Holy Bible: Acts Chapter 2
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully
come, they were all with one accord
in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a
sound from heaven as of a rushing
mighty wind, and it filled all the house
where they were sitting. 3 And there
appeared unto them cloven tongues like as
of fire, and it sat upon each of
them. 4 And they were all filled with the
Holy Ghost, and began to speak with
other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
