      patchy fog in the neighborhood in the past 15 minutes. Blueberry Hills is in the fog.

      Chance Basin.

      on the deck at 0744; Squirrels, Chestnut -Backed Chickadees, Steller's Jays, Rufous 
      Hummingbirds, Pine Siskins, and Crows have also been here.

2012: A Crow flew into one of the large Living Room picture windows, it flew back to the deck's 
      seatback top - didn't seem to affect it one bit because it then flew off immediately. 
      This was the largest bird ever to have hit one of our windows since my family moved into this 
      house in July 1970. Other people in the Juneau area have had Bald Eagles fly into their windows, 
      in most cases breaking the window and injuring the bird.

7/03/04: Independence Day Fireworks over Gastineau Channel began at 12:00:00 AM (0000) July 4.

Midnight: Fireworks began. The fireworks are behind the trees mostly out of sight of the 
          Webcam (but very visible from the other end of the house).
2350: Cloudy with fireworks and smoke from them and woodsmoke. Juneau 4th of July fireworks 
      to start in 10 minutes, shot from a barge in the Juneau harbor.
2250: Cloudy with some smoke and fireworks (see Webcam).
2159: The Hummingbirds are still coming to the feeder; private fireworks (though illegal here) 
      are being shot off here and there.

1013: An Immature Bald Eagle landed on the top of the 70' Power Pole to the East along Douglas
