I'd love to have the view back! You're mostly correct about the trees with the exception of a few trees that we could cut, but need to find someone to do it, we tried this spring but didn't get a response from the man we preferred; unfortunately even if we cut all our trees down to the ground it would make little difference. I've thought about elevating the webcams except they are at the top of our windows now and to raise them any further would require either new weatherproof outdoor cameras or weatherproof heated enclosures and then there is the problem of getting the cable(s) to them. June began with some thunderstorm activity along the Coast Mountains with most of it confined to British Columbia. An area of low pressure prevailed most of the month over the Gulf of Alaska with numerous systems impacting Southeast Alaska keeping temperatures slightly below normal and above normal precipitation for all but the northern Panhandle and north Gulf coast. A break in the fairly persistent clouds over the northern panhandle resulted in Skagway reaching 80F for the first time July 2016. These warm temperatures resulted in rises to bankfull on the Chilkat and Taiya rivers which produced some minor/nuisance flooding. After the warm temperatures early in the month, a cooler airmass became entrenched over the region with snowlevels dropping to 3000 to 4000 feet. 2-3 inches of snow was reported at Chilkat Pass on June 17th. Suicide Basin released multiple times during the month, as indicated by a sensor placed in the basin and webcam imagery. Mendenhall Lake rose in response, but the lake level was so low to begin with that no flooding occurred. A glacial lake outburst also occurred on the Taku River early in June with no flooding there either. -------------------------------------------------------------------- SUNDAY 7/02/17: 0635: Now Available: The June 2017 Monthly Report, and the updated Weather Database | The 1st blossoms on the Fireweed have opened 2020 ADT: Rain, Cloudy, most of the very top - top of Mt.
