On the other hand, people in the bottom three deciles don't drink at all, and even the median consumption among those who do drink is just three beverages per week." NWS Special Statement Statement as of 5:49 AM AKST on November 27, 2016 ...Significant storm likely late Monday night through Tuesday night... A strong low developing out of the North Pacific will rapidly move into the Gulf Tuesday and then inland as it weakens over the northern Panhandle and northwest Canada Tuesday night. The coastal waters are expecting strong gales with the potential for storm force winds in the northeast Gulf and very strong gusts through the Inner Channels of the Panhandle. Access to sub tropical moisture will bring in the potential for 1 to 3 inches of rain for the coastal areas. Warm air will surge northward with this system which will limit significant snowfall to the far northern Panhandle. Depending on the amount of cold air in place...overrunning snow may be significant in this area especially at the higher elevations. The public should be prepared for the potential for high winds across the Panhandle and heavy snowfall for the far northern Panhandle. This forecast will be refined with added model solutions and forecaster analysis. This statement will be updated at 6 PM akst Sunday or sooner if conditions warrant. ------------------------------------------------------------------ 0240 AST: High Rain Rate of .05" of Rain per hour.
