And they have fears that, while they’re fears, are not rooted in fact.” - Superintendent Mark Miller. So Mr. Miller, the children because of cultural influences that upend the ideas of male and female and cause unwarranted confusion for young children are the ones in charge and the parents and adults who don't believe in your viewpoint Mr. Miller have no say in the matter in the upbringing of children and are wrong? The Obama Administration has redefined Title 9 at the stroke of a pen to redefine what "sex" means in the law; "sex" and "gender" had until recently, had the same definition and were two different words to differentiate between male and female before being redefined by people like yourself Mr. Miller. The writers of the law did not envision a guy going into the girls locker room just because he thinks (or CLAIMS to think... THAT is really the problem) that he is a she. What about the privacy and dignity of everyone else Mr. Miller? We need to stay with the status-quo that existed before the activists (including Juneau Public Libraries employees using our CBJ tax dollars) started turning everything upside-down in their zeal on behalf of a tiny, tiny, tiny number of people. Creating tourist attractions and funding general government activities and services with this fee is not allowed gals and guys (33 U.S.C. § 5; 42 U.S.C. § 1983, U.S. Const., art. I, § 10, cl. 3, U.S. Const., art. 1, § 8, cl. 3). One example of misuse of the money: "Marine Passenger Fees" go to Capital Transit. The riders pay for it when they use the bus like everyone else and the Federal Government has paid millions, and millions of dollars through grants over the years to pay for purchasing the buses, and... through the sales tax they already pay (some 25% of total yearly sales tax revenue). When tourists started using it "too much" at the Cruise Ship Terminal, the City moves the bus station to the foot of Main Street to discourage its use and the subsidy with their money still continues. The month of April was another warm one at the Juneau International Airport. The average temperature for the month was 44.9 degrees beating the previous record of 44.4 set in 1993. The airport also broke the record for warmest minimum temperature with 38.6 degrees averaged. This breaks the previous record of 36.9 set in 1941. The fact that we had 8 days with record high minimum temperatures helped with these two warm records. The warmest day in April was the 22nd with 61 degrees and the coldest temperature occurred on the 20th with a cool 30 degrees. This was the 5th wettest April on record with a total rainfall of 5.16 inches. That is 2.22 inches above normal. The most rain fell on the 17th with 0.89 inches.
