THE MONTHLY AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS 35.6 DEGREES...WHICH WAS 5.5 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THIS RANKS AS THE 6TH WARMEST FEBRUARY ON RECORD. MAINLY CLOUDY SKIES AND WINDY CONDITIONS CONTRIBUTED TO AN AVERAGE MINIMUM TEMPERATURE OF 32.3 DEGREES...7.4 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THE DAILY MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE WAS 43 DEGREES OCCURRING ON THE 9TH OF THE MONTH. IN A NORMAL FEBRUARY JUNEAU RECEIVES 16.8 INCHES OF SNOWFALL. THIS SNOWFALL AMOUNT IS TIED FOR THE 7TH LOWEST DURING FEBRUARY SINCE 1943. LITTLE SNOW COVER WAS OBSERVED AT THE AIRPORT AFTER THE FIRST TWO DAYS OF MONTH. THE HIGHEST WIND GUST AT THE AIRPORT WAS 48 MPH OUT OF THE SOUTHEAST ON THE 27TH AS A STRONG WEATHER FRONT PUSHED NORTH OVER THE AREA.
