Rain rates of up to 0.25 inches per hour are possible especially near the higher mountains. Rain will cause considerable ponding of water in low lying areas, near culverts, and along small creeks and drainages. Storm drains should be kept clear of debris as much as possible. Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely. Move to higher ground. Remain cautious when in low-lying areas...and report any minor flooding to your law enforcement agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service forecast office in Juneau. Please stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio or your favorite local weather news source for updates on this situation. A flood advisory means river or stream flows are elevated or ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
