If the river continues to rise at the current rate... it will begin to cause minor flooding early Thursday morning. It is expected to crest within the next 24 hours and thus only minor flooding is expected. Flood stage on the Taku River is 43.0 ft. People with property along the Taku River should take the necessary precautions to protect their property from the rising water levels. Pilots have reported debris in the river and thus boaters should avoid the area or be cautious for this hazard. Report any minor flooding to your law enforcement agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service forecast office in Juneau.
