The Snow of Last Winter

As the winter of 2007 - 2008 approaches, I thought during the “blazing heat” of Juneau in the summertime I’d show you how Jackson Road in the Blueberry Hills area of West Juneau looked in early April 2007.

A View from the Southern End of Thunder Mountain.

This shot was taken from the southern end of Thunder Mountain at the overlook of Glacier Gardens Rainforest Adventure looking towards the Fish Creek Valley on Douglas Island. A portion of the runway and taxiway of the Juneau International Airport is shown adjacent to part of the 4,000 acre Mendenhall Wetlands State Game Refuge while at a low tide of minus 0.1 feet; the main navigation channel of Gastineau Channel is in the center of the picture.
