<p align="justify"><font face="verdana">On the afternoon of Monday, April 13th, the Alaska State Department of Transportation and Public Facilities <a href="http://www.dot.state.ak.us/comm/pressbox/arch_2009/PR09-2560.shtml" target="_blank">performed avalanche control work</a> on Mt. Roberts above Thane Road using a <a href="http://www.dot.state.ak.us/comm/pressbox/arch_2009/images/AvCon-090413-036-rww.JPG" target="_blank">105-mm Howitzer</a> located at the old Treadwell Mine site on Douglas Island. The black smudges occurred from that shooting.</font></p>
