Spruce Cone Crop

Young Sitka Spruce trees loaded with the heaviest crop of cones in a long time; the lower slopes of Mt. Juneau visible in the background. In May 2005 the Juneau area experienced one of the most prodigious releases of the yellow-green spruce pollen in memory.
